I experimented with the digital photographs that mom and dad took during their recent trip to China and added in some background music from mom's favourite Hong Kong oldies collection. The grand finale is to convert everything into a VCD for their entertainment.
Photo Story 3 is pretty easy to use. Didn't take me long to master it. All you need is some pretty good digital photographs and some matching background music. There rest is just like MS Powerpoint.
You can also add in your own audio narrations as well. The resulting file is a .wmv file.
Here's a tip though. Forget about getting it to produce a VCD quality .wmv file. It is damn slow and the quality is real bad. To create a VCD, simply get it to produce a high resolution 1024 x 768 .wmv file and get your CD recording software to convert it for you.
Spent my whole evening on that... it was sure worth it to see my folks happy.
