I'm back after weeks off zero online activity. I'm glad that I finally finished my assignment - *signed*, *sealed* and *delivered*. I don't think I did well in it. :'( Now, I have to prepare for my coming semester exam scheduled at the end of the month.
I was very stressed when I worked on my assignment. There were thoughts of dropping my degree. I feel that it is not giving me any value but becoming a hindrance for me - preventing me from pursuing other opportunities that can increase my market-value (albeit quicker) and taking up too much of my time.
I figure that when I complete it in 2006, I won't be getting a bigger salary with the paper anyway. Might as well I focus on areas that can grow my market-value now!
During my weeks of disapperance, I also attempted my MCSA 2003 upgrade exam and I failed! *Sob* *Sob* I'm so sad now. It was a gamble because I have not completed my revisions but my free voucher was expiring. So, I had to force myself to take it. Did well in other areas but screw-up big time in DNS and security. :'(
The failure prompted me to think even more carefully whether I should drop my degree. I should be focusing on professional certs that can help add value to my market-worth. Mom supported me with an advice, "Do what you need to do when you are young. Don't waste your time. If not, it could be too late when you finally want to do it". *Sigh*
I have received a couple of useful advice from my friends and peers (thanks guys). I'm still considering now ...
