On occasion this car is referred to as a "Buick" but in fact it was never originally referenced that way by General Motors or its creator, Harley Earl. It was always "the General Motors Le Sabre concept". Buick Division did not use the Le Sabre name on a model until 1959.
Another GM concept built concurrently with the Le Sabre was the "Buick XP-300" and was touted by that Division.
Harley Earl drove the Le Sabre as his personal car for a few years.
