Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow
Caught the sneak preview in the cinema today. There were less than 20 people watching it if I'm not mistaken. The movie is not bad. Nice special effects, nice background scenes (although some look quite fake - like paintings), handsome actor and beautiful actress (pay attention to her blonde hair). Also starring Angelina Jolie - ma favourite!
Set somewhere around the pre-WWII days, another one of those mad German scientist who wants to do something bad to the world and our American hero is asked to save the day. Story line is nothing to shout about (especially if you have watched a lot of Bond movies). But if you like robots, dinosaurs and aircrafts with weird aero-dynamics, this is the right movie for you.
Plenty of dog-fight scenes (layman terms, air-to-air combat). There is plenty of humour between Joe (Sky Captain) and Polly (Cune Reporter). Angelina Jolie stars as Frankie, a British air-commander (or commanderess). Checkout her floating aircraft-carrier and her amphibious squadron.
Overall, a nice sci-fi fantasy movie since Van Helsing and LXG. So if you are someone who enjoys ... Feeeuuuhhh.... Tut-tut-tut-tut... KaBarBoom! Then you should not miss this movie.
