Corralitas Drive: So Many Bees In Pepper Trees

Photo: Diane Edwardson, October 9, 2011.  The pepper tree overhanging my yard was vibrating with thousands of bees attracted to the just starting to bloom flowers.  (Click on photo to enlarge.) These large, beautiful trees may be Peruvian Pepper Trees (Shinus molle), which the California Invasive Plant Council classifies as an invasive yet, limited threat to native ecosystems.
