After attending my presentation on SQL Azure Data Sync, my DBA was a little disappointed when I mentioned that SQL Azure Data Sync does not currently support bigint data type. She kept telling me that it is important to have bigint support because a lot of our tables are using it.
I showed her the Supported SQL Azure Data Types web page that showed this (at the point of this writing)
She gave me a teary eye look and I said, "Why not we just test it out and see whether it supports it?" Off we went to setup SQL Azure Data Sync on a table that contains bigint columns and to our surprise - it worked! We have not tried other unsupported data types listed on the page but we are glad to discover that bigint is actually supported!
